Step 1 – Verify Shared Download Location from the Product Information Window

You need to verify the shared download location to eliminate the update issues in QuickBooks.

  1. Open QuickBooks, and go to the Helptab to click the Product Information
  2. Note down the location where QuickBooks will save the downloaded file and from under the Helptab, click Update QuickBooks.
  3. Now verify the download location under the Optionstab, and if the location is not correct, then change the location and select Yes for Shared Download, followed by clicking Save.
  4. Lastly, rerun the update process in QuickBooks payroll to check if the error is dismissed.

Step 2 – Remap the Drive to a New Letter to Access the QB File

If the shared location is incorrect, you need to remap the drive to a new letter and access the company file to address QB error code 15102.

  1. Close the QuickBooks Company Fileand remap your network drive to a new letter.
  2. Open your company file by using the new mapped-drive letter and select the Help menu to click on the Update QuickBooks Desktop
  3. From the Optionstab, turn the Shared Download Off and then turn it back On to use the new drive letter.
  4. Click on Save & Closeand ensure that the tax tables are correctly updated to run the QB payroll updates again.
