  1. Go to the search panel located on the taskbar and search for one of the following extensions according to your company file-
  • *.qbw(Working Files)
  • *.qbb(Backup file)
  • *.qba(Accountant’s copy files)
  • *.qbx(Accountant’s transfer files)
  • *.qby(Accountants change files)
  1. After the file shows up in the search results, right-click on the file and select Open file location.
  2. Note down the location of your company file.
  3. Open QuickBooks on your computer and click on File.
  4. Select Open or Restore company and click Open a company file.
  5. Tap Next, select your company file, and click Open.

Solution 2- Update the Windows to the latest release

This error can occur if you use an older version of Windows, which causes compatibility issues while running the software. Follow the steps mentioned underneath to update your Windows-
