The Brisbane Club has upheld a tradition of excellence since 1903. It is one of the premier clubs in Australia.

The Club has six stunning function rooms accommodating intimate gatherings or gala events. It offers epicurean excellence, including High Tea, degustation lunches, and gourmet truffle dinners.

Socialising

The Club offers several ways to socialise and engage with other Members. Enjoy a high tea in the lounge or indulge in an exquisite dessert from the Brisbane Club restaurant. The menu also includes a variety of wines and cocktails. You can also book a table for a wedding or cocktail party at the Club. The venue has six function rooms, each a luxurious space that will impress your guests.

The Club was formally founded on 22 December 1892 by the commandant of the Queensland Defence Force at the time, Major General J. Fletcher Owen. The object of the Club was "to provide a meeting place for Officers of all branches of the Defence Force to facilitate social interaction and to promote the advancement of professional knowledge."

A few years later, Mrs. Iris Adams became the Club's first Associate Member - the category that opened membership to wives and widows of Members over 21. This ended the eighty-year-old restriction that all members must be commissioned officers in the Defence Force. Twenty-seven members died in the Second World War and are commemorated on an Honour Board in the Club foyer.

The Club provides a sense of belonging for Members, rekindling old friendships and sparking new connections. It is where members come for delectable dining, unforgettable events, and genuine connection.

Dining

For Members and guests, dining at the Club is a culinary experience to remember. Meals from the traditional Dining Room to the Wine Cellar are designed to celebrate epicurean excellence. The onsite cellar is rated one of the best in the Southern Hemisphere, offering an impressive array of wines to complement each meal.

Located in a historic precinct opposite Parliament House and City Botanic Gardens, the Club is proud of its heritage and offers modern facilities and luxury services. It is a place for genuine connection, rekindling old friendships, and making new ones. Members can enjoy unlimited possibilities and incomparable service, including a Health & Wellness Centre, personalised fitness classes, and modern equipment.

In 1892 the Club was formally established as a social and military club. Today it is a vibrant institution, maintaining its original objectives of socialising and military discourse, welcoming men and women from Defence Forces and civilian life in Queensland, and reciprocal clubs throughout Australia and the world.

Functions

The Club hosts various events, from intimate gatherings to grand cocktail soirees. It has six stunning function rooms perfect for private parties and weddings. These include the President's Room, filled with fine antiques and artworks. The Member's Dining room has high vaulted ceilings and can accommodate up to 250 guests.

The Club's facilities also cater to corporate events and seminars. Its boardroom, which can be joined to the River Room for larger functions, features natural light and brand-new AV systems. The Club offers a range of catering options and decor packages. It is a multi-award-winning venue that is ideal for a variety of events and celebrations.

Guests are asked to wear smart, professional business attire at the Club. The dress code is strictly enforced, so ensure your guests know this before they arrive.

The Brisbane Club is in the city's heart and close to Southbank Parklands Convention Center. The Club's diverse boutique restaurant and bar offers a range of food and beverage options for all occasions. Its menu includes dishes from around the world, such as Thai, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, and French. It also features a range of cocktails and wine. Its desserts are also a highlight. They are as beautiful as they are delicious, with a choice of mocha torte, strawberry Romanoff, chocolate, and elderflower mousse with raspberry streusel or spun raspberry sugar.

Entertainment

The Brisbane Club has six stunning function rooms that can be utilised for any event. The President's Room, furnished with fine antiques and artworks, is ideal for intimate gatherings, while the Members Dining Room has high vaulted ceilings and can seat 250 people. The Club offers its members a range of luxurious services, including an onsite Health and Wellness Centre, which offers fitness classes, modern equipment, and personalised training programs.
