Brentford want to sign Sergio Reggilon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.

"English Premier League side Brentford want to sign Leguilon on loan from Tottenham," European soccer transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano said on Thursday (ET).

Reggilon is a Spanish left-back. He spent his youth career with Real Madrid's youth team, which won the Spanish Primera Liga. He has been playing for Tottenham since 2020 and is known to Korean soccer fans as a close friend of Son Heung-min.

Born in Madrid, Leguillón joined Real in 2005 at the age of eight. He progressed steadily through the youth ranks and was loaned to UD Logrones in the summer of 2015. He returned in January 2016 to play for Castilla before being loaned out again to UD Logrones ahead of the 2016-17 season.

After losing Theo Hernandez to Real Sociedad ahead of the 2018-2019 season, Real turned to youth product Leguillon as Marcelo's backup. However, with the arrival of Zinedine Zidane, he lost his place in the starting lineup.

Ahead of the 2019-2020 season, Leguillon left for Sevilla. It was there that he realized his full potential. He was a regular starter all season, scoring three goals and providing five assists as the team won the UEFA Europa League.

In 2020, Leguillon returned to Real and then moved to Tottenham. He arrived in London for a transfer fee of £25 million. He established himself as a regular in his first season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 34 games, and followed that up with two goals and three assists in 31 games in his second season.

Last season, Leguillon fell into a slump. He went on loan to Atletico Madrid, but returned to Tottenham without much success. He was loaned to Manchester United for the 2023-2024 season, but the Red Devils triggered his release clause.

After an early return to Tottenham from United, Reguilon's prospects are not bright. Destiny Udoh has been Spurs' starting left back this season. Udoji has cemented his place in the starting lineup with one goal and two assists in 17 games.

Out of nowhere, a team showed interest in Leguillon. Brentford. Brentford have 토토사이트 been promoted for two consecutive seasons since the 2021-2022 season, but their recent poor form has left them in 16th place with 19 points. They're only three points above the relegation zone and 18th-placed Luton Town.

Therefore, the club is looking to turn things around in the January transfer window. They"re particularly interested in Leguillon. This season, Brentford have exposed their defensive insecurities, conceding 31 goals in 19 league games.

"Brentford are keen to loan Reggilon," said Romano, "There have already been talks, but he will have the final say. More clubs are interested and he will wait and see what happens. In any case, Leguillon is leaving the club in January."
