Jonas about the meaning of entrepreneurship at spotit

There is no denying that entrepreneurship flows through the veins of Jonas – customer success manager. Since his start at spotit in 2018, he has always accepted every challenge that came his way. Four years later, he has learned what entrepreneurship really means and is happy to share his experiences and visions.

Tell me, what does your track within spotit look like?

'At the time I started as a project engineer, but was soon given the opportunity to further develop myself as a project manager. Due to the situation at the time, we as a company were faced with a challenge that we all had to go through together. I immediately threw myself into this new role with full conviction.'

That is also a form of entrepreneurship. But I think that quality really came into its own after that.

'Yes that's right. When I grew into a managerial position, I was suddenly the point of contact for an entire team. We are constantly implementing new things with customers. You will always be faced with new challenges. But our NOC and SOC must also be continuously operational. And if things go wrong, they immediately look at me. Fortunately, that only happens very rarely.' (laughs) 'It is effectively a very crucial role. In addition, I also attract a number of other projects. I have a passion for optimization and want to keep moving forward. Because of all those responsibilities, I only now realize what entrepreneurship really means.'

What is 'entrepreneurship' according to you?

'At spotit we have a lot of passionate people with tons of experience. And you notice that when we want to roll out a new service or technology or start onboarding a new customer. Everyone immediately jumps to that part that belongs to his / her field. But someone is also needed to see the bigger picture and to tackle things concretely. Keep a sort of helicopter view. It's about not thinking too much in boxes and placing responsibilities on someone else, but rather grasping things yourself and getting to work with them.'

How does entrepreneurship feel at spotit?

'It's actually in spotit's DNA. Here everyone gets the chance to pursue a passion. You can investigate yourself where there is still a gap or what spotit and the customer still need, in order to manage new projects and optimisations yourself.'

When do you consider 'entrepreneurship' to be successful?

“When the team realizes that we are just one part. A tool to make the customer's business succeed. Customer satisfaction is central. All the time! When my team forgets about their defined responsibilities and looks at how they can help the customer, I've succeeded. I also want them to keep challenging themselves. Questioning things as we know them. What is best for spotit and the long term customer. How can we achieve that? What should we do for that?'

Very nice words! Do you have any specific goals within spotit?

'Spotit is growing from a small scale-up into a large, international organization, and that brings new challenges. At the time, they started with a small team that could count on a certain maturity, but over the years younger starters were also added. It is important that we provide them with the necessary framework to get to the same level. We must now first introduce some structure, of course without losing our individuality. Spotit stands for flexibility, but it is crucial that we properly map out a number of things in order to grow even further. And we are well on our way. There is still some trial and error here and there, but we have already taken the steps in the right direction.'
