When famous technology company Apple released the Airpods in 2016, many people had varying opinions. Many loved not having to hold their gadget with them when standing up while wearing earphones, while others hated the idea of untangling barbed wires when listening to music.

Now that the world has accepted wireless earphones for seven years, many can compare their advantages and disadvantages. Many people today are also looking into buying wireless headphones because of the professional sound system features they provide. Since we live in a digital world, having the best digital experience is essential for many.

Aside from that, many also prefer using wired earphones and headphones because they work better with their preferences and needs. If you’re planning to get new headphones or earphones but are contemplating which one to get, this post is for you. Here are questions to answer which one would work best for you.

1 - Do you prefer listening to music hands-free?

The first question to help you decide what earphones or headphones to get is, do you prefer listening to music hands-free or not? If yes, then a wireless earphone could be for you. One of the best selling points of wireless headphones is the ability for people to move and do chores without bringing their gadgets.

If you also hate holding your gadgets every time you’re listening to music or simply don’t enjoy having tangled wires in front of you, then maybe you should go for wireless earphones.

2 - Do you hate charging your earphones and need to use them for more hours?

One of the downsides of wireless earphones is its battery use. Typically, the average wireless earphones could last three hours. On the other hand, wired earphones don’t have a time restriction. Usually, wireless headsets would only need at least ten minutes of charge for you to use them again.

But despite that, many still don’t find the idea of charging their headphones thrilling. Wireless headphones may not work if you’re looking for headphones you can use for work. But if you’re okay with charging your headphones after several hours, maybe you could buy wireless earphones instead.

3 - Do you often misplace your things or not?

One of the reasons some people stick with wired earphones is that they’re not careful with their belongings. Many love to move around freely and forget they are using something until they remember it and realise they lost it. If you consider yourself clumsy, I wouldn’t suggest buying wireless earphones because you’re most likely to misplace them after using them for a while.

But if you’re careful and attentive with your belongings, there’s no reason to worry about getting wireless headphones to enjoy.

4 - Does having a quality sound system matter to you?

Another thing that makes wireless headphones popular these days is their features. Most wireless earphones and headphones on the market today have exceptional sound quality that is near to professional audio systems.

Of course, many wired headphones have outstanding sound quality. But if you’re after convenience and a hassle-free music experience–quality wireless earphones may be a better option. If not, many wired headphones offer top-notch sound quality that you might like and could work well with your preferences.

5 - Are you particular with repairs?

It’s difficult to compare which is better because both have pros and cons. When using wired earphones, damage could happen if the wires start bending or peeling off their outer layer. On the other hand, wireless earphones could also have technical issues with connectivity and software issues.

If you’re particular with repairs, we know wired earphones are often disposable because most prefer buying a new one instead of repairing its wire. On the other hand, wireless headphones are often easier to fix because you’ll just have to bring them to the service centre of the brand you bought them from. Unlike wired headphones, they’re not disposable. If you’re particular about repairs, this is something you should consider.

6 - Do you live an active lifestyle?

Another tip to know if a wired or wireless earphone works for you is if you live an active lifestyle. Many people today love working out while listening to music. If you’re one of those people, wireless headphones or earphones are the best product for you.

Of course, you can also work out with wired headphones, but it will be more convenient to do so with wireless because you won’t have to carry a waist bag to place your gadget while working out.

7 - How much is your budget?

Lastly, how much is your budget? Obviously, wireless headphones and earphones are more expensive because of their convenience. But there are also wired costly headphones, especially if they have professional sound system features.

If you have a limited budget and don’t enjoy charging your earphones, a wired one would be the best for you. On the other hand, if you are willing to spend a few more dollars and prefer convenience when enjoying music, wireless earphones could be for you.

Both are a great choice.

It’s not a secret that both are a great choice and each has pros and cons. The decision will only boil down to what you prefer and what works best for your daily activities.
