Ragdoll Cat Care

The ragdoll has a single, smooth coat; there is no undercoat of fur on it. Compared to other medium-haired cat coats, it is intended to mat less. By brushing at least twice a week, Ragdoll can prevent tangles.

Ragdolls produce less shedding and dander than breeds with thicker coats since they don't have an undercoat. Ragdolls are not regarded as hypoallergenic, though, as many people are still allergic to the saliva and skin secretions of cats, and ragdolls also generate similar allergens.

Don’t give high calorie dog food to Ragdoll cats. They may not digest high calorie food properly. It will be better to provide balanced food.

Ragdoll cats typically require nail trimming, just like all other cats do. After receiving a pedicure, your cat may feel the need to sharpen its claws. They feel even more than usual, so be sure to supply suitable scratching posts.

Common Health Problems

Ragdoll cats, like many large breed cats, are susceptible to weight problems. Your cat can stay healthy and trim if you divide out its daily food and feed it out of puzzle toys. Regular playtime for your cat is essential for weight control. Although they may be adorable, overweight cats are unhealthy.

They are susceptible to bladder stones, which hurt and make the pee bleed. The use of vocalization (crying) in the litter box, difficulty urinating, or urinating outside the litter box are all warning signs. 3 Encourage your cat to drink a lot of fresh water and schedule routine checks with your veterinarian to prevent bladder stones and other urinary illnesses.

Ragdolls, on the other hand, are vulnerable to HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy).
