There was a reason he was dubbed "COLD Palmer" by local fans.

Cole Palmer, 22, Chelsea, started and played for about 80 minutes before being subbed off in the 33rd round of the 2023-2024 Premier League match between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge in London, England, at 4 a.m. ET on Saturday. Chelsea cruised to a 6-0 victory, with Palmer scoring four goals on his own.

Chelsea pulled out a 4-2-3-1 formation. Nicola Jackson was up front, with Mikhail Mudrik, Cole Palmer, and Noni Madueke forming the attacking second line. Connor Gallagher-Moises Caicedo filled out the midfield, while Marc Cucurella-Thiago Silva-Trevor Chalobah-Malo Guisto formed the back four. Giorje Petrovic was in goal.

Palmer set the tone for Chelsea's offense in the attacking third, and it was he who opened the scoring. In the 13th minute, Chelsea began to attack quickly from the back four, with Palmer receiving a pass from Guisto and exchanging balls with Jackson. He then fired a left-footed shot from the penalty arc in front of the box that went straight into the back of the net.

Palmer quickly found the back of the net again. In the 18th minute of the second half, Mudrick made a quick run into the box and laid the ball off to Jackson, who fired wide. Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford got a hand to the ball, but it was Palmer who slotted it home. Palmer's 18th goal of the league.

Palmer completed his hat trick in the 29th minute of the first half. 토토사이트 Pickford made a bad pass and Palmer picked it up, and he simply slotted it past the keeper to make it 3-0.

It didn't stop there. Palmer's barrage continued in the second half. After Jackson added a goal in the 44th minute to make it 4-0, Chelsea won a penalty kick 19 minutes into the second half. Jackson, Madueke, and Palmer argued over the penalty, but captain Gallagher told Palmer to take it. Palmer already had a hat trick, but this time there was no mercy. He completely faked the keeper's direction to make it 5-0 and his fourth goal of the game.

Palmer was then subbed off in the 35th minute for Cesare Cassaday, who finished the game first. Chelsea closed out the game in the 45th minute with another goal from Alfie Gilchrist to make the score 6-0.

For the game, Palmer put four of his five total shots on goal. He completed 81% (22-of-27) of his passes and drew a penalty kick himself. He made his presence felt in the opposition box with six touches, three successful dribbles, four final third passes, and five ball wins.

Palmer added four more goals against Everton to take his tally to 20 goals and nine assists in 27 league games this season. That's more than the 20 goals and five assists of "monster striker" Elling Holland.

The race for the Premier League's top goalscorer this season appeared to be between Holland (20), Ollie Watkins (19), Dominic Solanke (17), and Mohamed Salah (17), but with four goals in this game alone, Palmer has suddenly become a serious contender for the title.
