'Bull' Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) struck again to give his team the win. He made his presence felt on his home turf, where he has been dominant this season.

Hwang opened the scoring in the 42nd minute to break a 0-0 tie in the 15th round of the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) at home against Burnley on Saturday at Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton, England. Hwang's goal proved to be the game-winner as Wolverhampton held on for a 1-0 victory.

It was Hwang's eighth goal in the league in two games since his last goal in the 13th round against Fulham on March 28. He moved into a tie for fourth place on the EPL scoring list behind Elling Holland (Manchester City - 14), Muhammad Salah (Liverpool - 10), and Son Heung-min (Tottenham - 9). He also has two assists in the league this season, marking his first double-digit offensive points in a season since joining the EPL. Hwang had five goals and one assist in his first season in the EPL in 2021-2022, and three goals and one assist last season. This season, however, he's been in peak form, racking up 10 attacking points less than halfway through the league schedule. His total in all competitions this season is 11 (9 goals-2 assists), with one goal in the League Cup.

Wolverhampton faced the 19th-ranked team in the league at home, but the game did not go easily. Wolverhampton narrowly escaped a scare in the 38th minute when Burnley's Jay Rodriguez and Josh Brownhill both had shots saved by goalkeeper Dan Bentley.

After withstanding Burnley's onslaught, Wolverhampton broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute through Hwang Hee-chan. Pablo Sarabia's pass from the left side of the penalty area found Mateusz Cunha in the center of the box, who, despite being brought down by a defensive challenge, found Hwang on the right side of the box, who rattled the net with a right-footed shot. It was also impressive to see him confuse the opposing defense and goalkeeper with a run in the paint just before the shot. Burnley, who lost flanker Luca Colleoso to injury in the first half, were unable to fight back after Hwang's goal.

After the game, Hwang was voted Man of the Match on the league's official website, receiving an overwhelming 83.5% of the vote. Sky Sports in the UK also awarded Hwang the highest rating of 8, along with Sarabia, and named him Player of the Match.

The win moves Wolverhampton up to 12th place (18 points) and keeps them in the mid-table of the league, thanks in large part to Hwang. Of Wolverhampton's 20 league goals this season, Hwang has been responsible for nearly half of them.

He's especially endeared himself to Wolverhampton fans, scoring six goals at home this season. He is contracted to Wolverhampton until 2026 and is currently in talks 먹튀검증 to extend his contract. "Talks between Hwang and Wolverhampton are progressing well," said the Telegraph, which reported after the Burnley game that Hwang is proving to be an integral part of Wolverhampton manager Gary O'Neill's squad.
