Located in the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh (MP) is one of the most significant & fastest growing states in the country. Over the last decade the annual GSDP of MP has grown at a CAGR of 8%, with power sector being instrumental to this growth. In India, the sustainable & low carbon energy solutions tops the national agenda. Madhya Pradesh too endorses this national vision & has been working in sync with the central government on scaling the clean energy deployment across the state. Infact, the renewable energy generation in the state has witnessed a tremendous capacity addition over the past decade at CAGR of 25%.
Presently, the cumulative green energy installed capacity of Madhya Pradesh stands to be 9358 MW as of Jul’23 (including hydro). The share of RES in MP’s clean energy portfolio stands to be 6135 MW. Solar energy leads the RES pack in the state followed by wind energy with total installed capacity for solar stands to be 3032 MW & that of wind is observed to be 2844 MW.
