Landing Page

For starters, let’s be clear about what a “landing page” is. A landing page is a website page designed to generate leads or sales in some way.

People find a landing page by typing something into Google and clicking on an ad that’s related to their search, or reading something online in a blog, social media source, or other campaign to bring them to a page to cause a particular action.

Landing Pages are typically designed for lead capture. In today’s marketing world, sales don’t usually happen when a potential customer is shown an “offer” for purchase on their first visit… Unless you’re Amazon or you have some serious weight and trust to throw around. For most of us, it’s more of a long-term game, starting with a landing page.

When a customer visits your landing page for the first time, the goal is typically to acquire their contact information for something valuable they’re interested in. For example… If you’re selling a service to teach people how to grow long silky hair… you don’t offer them the sale right away. You may start with a hair quiz… they can answer questions about their hair texture, style preferences, length goals, etc. After completing the quiz, they could enter their email to get the top 20 ways to achieve the results they are after via email…
