Social media platforms have made information on our hobbies more accessible than ever, and cycling is no different. And with more than 35.6 million adults in the UK actively using YouTube for their media consumption, many will use it as their one-stop shop for all things from informational guides and tutorials to escapist looks at cities we’ve never been to.

With so many hours of content available to watch, you might wonder whether to start sinking your teeth into the world of cycling influencers.

Leisure Lakes Bikes, a retailer of high-quality electric bikes, has analysed data from Social Blade and picked out some of the all-time best cycling content creators so you know where to look for some insight into riding. We’ll also look at an emerging influencer who could be stamping their name in the world of cycling influencers.

Ben Foster - The Cycling GK – 1.46m YouTube subscribers

While many footballers move into coaching or punditry as their career winds down, goalkeeper Ben Foster took a different approach by embracing YouTube to give an insight into his life as a professional footballer and his hobbies.

One that featured prominently is his love of cycling, showing in his videos how he’d cycle to training from his home and, on a few occasions, even cycling to games during his time at Watford.

With over two decades of playing the game to the top level, Foster created his account in 2020 and has amassed over 1.46 million subscribers and nearly 148 million views across 258 videos.

While his content has moved more to conversations around football post-retirement, his website still features some of his favourite rides and gear that he vouches for and loves.

Path Less Pedaled – 166K YouTube subscribers

When it comes to advice on how best to tackle off-road cycling and everything gravel bikes, no account comes close to Path Less Pedaled. The channel was opened in 2016 by Russ Roca and Laura Crawford, who’ve been documenting their travels around the world since they dedicated their lives to cycling since selling their possessions in 2009.

They’ve got tips, tricks, and guides on everything from parts to add to your bike to optimise your next off-road adventure, the best craft coffees to keep you energised before your rides, or even the best cameras to record those must-see moments. You can find it all on their channel!

Rides of Japan – 91.5K YouTube subscribers

Japan has an incredible cycling culture, with a reported 16% of all journeys in its capital city of Tokyo happening on bike. With his YouTube channel of more than 91.5 thousand subscribers, Rides of Japan gives us a small insight into stunning scenery throughout cityscapes extending to beautiful countryside and mountain views.

His videos cover a wide range of cycling-related content, from experimental bike builds and must-have accessories to bike-packing kit lists and his morning routine as a cycling content creator. The variety of themes in his videos means whether you’re looking for a cycling guide to Japan or want to know what some trending accessories bring to your ride, this channel’s got you covered.

@Miche1ada – 19.6K TikTok followers

When social media platforms emerge in popularity, new creators can establish themselves in a new niche. Michelle Moro is one user experiencing this, going by the username @Miche1ada on TikTok and letting her followers into her bike trips around Los Angeles.

Though many Americans have a negative view of LA’s cycling infrastructure, one of the goals of her videos and account is to show that it’s still possible, so she cycles around the city two or three times a week.

She’s currently got 19.6 thousand followers on the platform with 570K total views across her videos, with both continuing to increase. Part of the charm is getting to see cycling around a city through the eyes of a native, and her content is so friendly and welcoming. She could be the next big thing!
