Several ISO 9001 mandatory records are concerned with gathering and assessing client requirements. How many times has your company been caught off guard by a misunderstanding of what your customers want and need? How many times do you want it to occur? Implementing the clearly stated customer emphasis in ISO 9001 (together with the always developing process philosophy) will make it happen less frequently until it occurs only seldom or never at all.
