STEP 1 – SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT
You must first visit a doctor in order to obtain a Medical Marijuana Identification Card (MMIC) in California. You will be examined by this doctor for at least one of the aforementioned medical issues.
Your physician will draught a medical prescription indicating that medicinal cannabis may be used to treat your qualifying illness, if permitted.
STEP 2 – CONDUCT YOUR CALIFORNIA MEDICAL MARIJUANA CARD APPOINTMENT
Go to your local county programme to apply for your MMIC once you get your doctor's referral. You will need to provide proof of your identity and address in order to apply.
STEP 3- REGISTER AND SUBMIT YOUR CALIFORNIA MEDICAL MARIJUANA PATIENT CERTIFICATION FORMS
Depending on your region and medical requirements, the cost of your card may vary, but it will never go beyond $100. The state will decide whether to accept or reject your application in 30 days. Last but not least, if approved, your card will be usable after five days. I'm done now!
WHAT WILL YOU NEED WHEN REGISTERING YOURSELF ONLINE AS A PATIENT IN California?
- Obtain formal confirmation from a doctor stating that you have a qualifying medical condition and that medicinal marijuana is a suitable treatment for you.
- Visit the Medical Marijuana ID page of the CDPH to complete an application.
- Complete the application and, if necessary, the carer section.
- Bring a valid government-issued ID and the application in person, together with proof of residency in a county in California.
ARE CA MMJ CARDS AVAILABLE TO MINORS?
Patients must choose a primary carer in order to get or utilise medicinal cannabis. The primary carer, who is legally responsible for the patient's housing, health, and safety, must be at least 18 years old. a person who owns, runs, or works for a hospital, medical centre, hospice, or home health agency.
A primary carer cannot make an MMIC application. Applicants must be patients. The MMIC for the patient and the carer are both valid for the same time frame. Counties charge varying amounts.
An application for a Medical Marijuana Identification Card cannot be made by the main carer. The designated carer must be requested by the patient. The validity of the carer registration is equal to that of the patient's Medical Marijuana Identification Card. By county, different fees are necessary.
WHO CAN GET MEDICAL WEED IN California?
A medical marijuana card may be requested by anybody who is at least 18 years old, resides in California, and has at least one recognised medical condition.
Minors under the age of 18 may obtain a medical card in California under particular circumstances. Eligible patients may include emancipated or self-sufficient minors. Those who have guardianship or parental figures may apply with their carer. They will make the final choice about medical marijuana.
