Have you ever heard about genetically modified fish? Or crops? And lions even? Ever wonder how that is possible?

With scientific innovation advancing rapidly, Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are a medium of intrigue and have caused much controversy. Although GMOs mostly revolve around the development of crops, they open the door to the realm of infinite possibilities, which is, indeed, fascinating.

Let us take a closer look at the world of genetically modified creatures and uncover what has been achieved till now.

The Realm of Infinite Possibilities

If you are someone like me, you probably feel a sudden surge of excitement at the mention of genetically modified creatures. Don't you? Why is that?

As the world of scientific innovation grows, some mind-boggling narratives start to come forward. Did you ever own a pet because of which visitors would start sneezing? Achoo! All because of allergies. Did you hear about anti-allergic pets? These genetically modified animals will not be responsible for any more adverse reactions. How? Scientists have now provided hope for all allergy sufferers by modifying cats that produce less protein (which is responsible for allergic reactions).

There is now a genetically modified salmon that simply makes us go, "Wow." It's called the super salmon. Can you believe that? And living up to its name, it grows faster and larger than regular salmons (its wild counterparts). This is actually a matter of concern for experts. Say, if these fish were to somehow escape into the wild, tons of ecological consequences could occur.

Spider-goats are a truly fascinating example of the heights GMOs can go to. Believe it or not, by introducing spider genes into goats, researchers have now created a hybrid of spiders and goats. How are they useful, one might ask? Because these goats produce milk that contains the proteins of spider silk. Amazing. This silk is incredibly strong and can potentially create different materials—for example, robust and lightweight fabrics or medical sutures.

Speaking about GMOs, did you hear about the genetically modified lion that ate a whole human (alive) in The Great Lion Escape by the father and daughter duo - Hafeez Diwan and Sara Diwan? If you are interested in quirky fantasy novels, this book is for you.

This book introduces us to three 10th graders who take us on an adventure of a lifetime. An adventure to save the world from an evil Master as well as Mr. Bilderblung from a genetically modified lion's stomach. And they have to navigate between two parallel worlds too. Thrilling enough?

But the real question is, will the trio succeed in their mission? Or will the Master take over the world with the help of corrupt humans?

Find out in The Great Lion Escape.
