We’ve had more applications from senior, experienced, skilled people than ever before.”Experts including recruiters agree that the present slump in the industry may only last a short while.
According to Charley Cooper, chief communications officer of enterprise technology supplier and blockchain-based software startup R3, "Many of the current cutbacks are affecting a group of young people who came of age post-2008 economic crisis—they've never been through an epidemic of job cuts like these before."
Graduates are likely to want to return to software development companies once their initial shock subsides and the market begins to recover. While 12,000 employees may seem like a lot, Cooper reminds out that for an organization the size of Google, it's not that many.
