The cricketing body of Nepal suspends Sandeep Lamichhane- the rape-convicted cricketer from all kinds of national as well as International games.
The 23-year old has been sentenced to a jail term for eight years after being found guilty of rape of a 17-year old girl.The crime is learnt to have taken place in a Kathmandu hotel room back in August 2022.
Besides the punishment, the former Nepal skipper has also been slapped a fine of Rs 3 lakh and has been told to pay Rs 2 lakh as compensation to victim.
Lamichhane’s last match for Nepal was against Oman in November’s T20 Asia finals.
