Satanic Ritual Abuse In America

Satanic Ritual Abuse In America
3 min read

In 1980, a dark aura of panic surrounded America. It was a time when parents invested in preschools, inspecting secret tunnels. The police worked on identifying pagan symbols, and companies that sold soaps and toothpaste had to explain how their operations weren't based on Satanic principles.

In the early 1980s, conspiracies about cults committing mass child abuse were the talk of the town. The panic was highlighted throughout every news outlet, with authorities investigating the allegations.

As arrests were made and millions of dollars were spent on prosecutions, the phenomenon even got a name: the satanic panic.

Michelle Remembers, published in 1980, introduced the world to an ensemble of murderous Canadian Satanists. Mary DeYoung, a professor emeritus of sociology at Grand Valley State University, quotes, "It (the book) landed on a powder keg of American anxieties."

Some skeptics refused to confront the problem of sexual abuse, especially when it came to children. However, Michelle Remembers made it difficult to deny that there were reasons for concern. In the book, a Canadian psychologist and his former patient recall her memories of child abuse at the hands of Satanists.

In May 1985, the news program "20/20" ran a full-fledged segment on Satan worship that delved in on animal mutilations, which were clearly part of some bizarre ritual. Moreover, at the time, rock music was also scrutinized for being associated with devil worship, "satanic graffiti," as well as backward messages in pop songs.

Hugh Downs, the host, opened the show by saying, "Police have been skeptical when investigating these acts, just as we are in reporting them. But there is no question that something is going on out there, and that's sufficient reason for '20/20' to look into it."

Like the best-seller Michelle Remembers, there is another book that exposes the truth of satanic ritual abuse and raises awareness on the issue. Author Jesse A Parker's To Hell With Sarah is a true story of a tormented young woman raised by a family of devil worshippers known as the "Hea-thens." It is an unbelievable story of ritual abuse and torture that began at the age of three months and continued for thirty years. The read is a testimony to the miraculous power of Christ and how it prevails over the demonic forces of hell, trying to keep the protagonist enslaved to her past.

To Hell with Sarah: A Conflict With Satan is now available on Amazon.
