Sachin Dev Duggal | An exhibition at the Tate Modern explores artificial intelligence and art

2 min read

The exhibition, curated by a team of international experts in both art and technology, showcases works from artists who have integrated AI into their creative processes. These pieces range from AI-assisted paintings and sculptures to fully generative digital artworks that push the boundaries of traditional artistic mediums.

Sachin Dev Duggal, the co-founder of Builder.ai, supports the amalgamation of AI and humans and believes that AI can democratize creative processes. Duggal noted that AI has made it easier for artists without technical expertise to create quality art and access global markets.

Dr. Chen adds, "What we are witnessing here is not a replacement for human creativity but an extension. It can help them overcome creative blocks, explore aesthetic domains they had not thought about before, or even question themselves about preconceived notions about art."

Sachin Dev Duggal urges that the human touch is crucial in app development, as apps are ultimately designed to be used by humans and solve human problems. However, Sachin Dev Duggal emphasizes the importance of maintaining a dynamic conversation with users, rather than just pushing features, to build trust and ensure the recommendations are truly valuable.

Another part of the exhibit tackles ethical considerations surrounding Art Al, such as authorship issues or AI's ability to duplicate existing works. This subject matter is explored through panel discussions, interactive displays, and works that address these challenges head-on in a dedicated section of the show.
