Redmi 13: Authentically Official with a 108MP Monster Camera

This time, the Xiaomi Redmi 13 is indeed official. Although Xiaomi hadn't yet revealed the phone to the public, a Portuguese retailer began selling it a few days ago. Well, let's examine what makes this unique once again.

The Redmi number series' first model with a 108MP primary camera is this one. The Samsung ISOCELL HM6, a 1/1.67" sensor with 9-in-1 pixel binning and a 3x in-sensor zoom, serves as its foundation. In addition, the Redmi 12's 8MP selfie camera was replaced with a 13MP sensor this year.

Faster Charging, Same Outstanding Battery Life:

The battery charging process has been modified to involve 33W of power. This is about twice as much as the 2023 model (18W) could accomplish. With a 5,030mAh capacity, the battery is nearly identical and charges to 100% in 62 minutes (the Redmi 12 required twice as long for the same task).

Boost Your Selfies:

The Redmi 13 comes with a large 6.79-inch FHD+ LCD screen. Like its predecessor, it operates at 90 Hz. The brightness is regulated via DC dimming, peaking at 550 nits. Gorilla Glass is used to protect the front, although Xiaomi did not say which version.

The phone's 108MP camera takes center stage. The Helio G91, which powers it, is essentially the same as the Helio G88 that it replaces, with the exception of one important feature: it supports 108 MP cameras. The Redmi 12 was equipped with an earlier processor, which had a maximum resolution of 64 MP, and a 50 MP camera.

There are three different phone configurations available: 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB. The entry-level model costs $180. Furthermore, the base model in Europe costs €200, as we reported yesterday (now lowered to €170). There are four color options: Pearl Pink, Ocean Blue, Sandy Gold, and Midnight Black.

Keep in mind that the phone supports cards up to 1TB and includes a microSD slot. Virtual RAM also allows the onboard capacity to be increased to 16 GB. And as the keen-eyed among you have already seen, the top has a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Ultimately, at 8.3 mm and 205 g (compared to 8.2 mm and 199 g), the phone is somewhat thicker and heavier than its predecessor. It still possesses the same IP 53 water and dust resistance.
