Delta Air Lines is one of the major airlines in the United States and a legacy carrier headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It is the oldest operating airline in the US and the seventh-oldest operating worldwide. Delta, along with its subsidiaries and regional affiliates, including Delta Connection, operates over 5,400 flights daily and serves 325 destinations in 52 countries on six continents. Delta is a founding member of the SkyTeam airline alliance. As of the end of 2022, it had 90,000 employees. Delta has nine hubs, with the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport being the largest in terms of total passengers and number of departures. Northwest Airlines continued to operate as a subsidiary of Delta until December 31, 2009, when its operating certificate was merged with Delta’s. completed the integration with Northwest on January 31, 2010, when their computer reservations system and websites were combined, and the Northwest Airlines brand was retired.
