Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre Completes 80 Projects Worth AED16bn to Enhance Quality of Life

The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) has earmarked over AED 16 billion for the development and execution of 80 projects designed to improve living standards in Abu Dhabi. Impressively, 71 of these projects were completed in 2023, marking substantial advancements in infrastructure and community welfare throughout the emirate.

These completed initiatives span multiple sectors, including housing, transportation, and community development. Significant accomplishments include the construction of over 9,000 housing units to meet citizens' needs and the implementation of 27 projects focused on enhancing the quality of life. These projects include the creation of parks, schools, community centers, and other critical amenities essential for nurturing vibrant communities.

Moreover, ADPIC has embarked on major infrastructure endeavors to boost connectivity and mobility within Abu Dhabi. This includes constructing key transportation corridors, such as the Zayed Port Tunnel and the road network and junction at Zayed International Airport, aimed at ensuring smoother traffic flow and better accessibility.

ADPIC has also prioritized the development of green spaces and recreational facilities to promote healthier and more sustainable living for residents. The establishment of 23 parks and playgrounds in Khalifa City, alongside the Khalifa City Al Tawajud Al Baladi Centre, underscores the center's commitment to providing accessible leisure amenities for residents of all ages.

His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi (DMT), emphasized the transformative impact of these projects on the emirate's development. He noted that each infrastructure project is a commitment to improving lives, empowering communities, and contributing to Abu Dhabi's brighter future.

Eng Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Acting Director-General of ADPIC, reiterated the center's dedication to excellence and sustainable development. By leveraging innovative strategies and initiatives, ADPIC aims to continue fostering positive change and prosperity for Abu Dhabi residents, ensuring a high quality of life and a thriving urban environment for generations to come.
